Proctor & Gamble is conducting a recall campaign on many of its pod products sold in the ziplock flexible film type bags. Apparently they are not secure which leaves easy access to children to ingest. There have been 4 reported cases so far.
FIRST THINGS FIRST: Please secure your pods so no children will have access to it.
Once that's done you can submit a claim with P&G. If determined that you have an affected lot they will send you a prepaid gift card for the value of the detergent in your claim. They will also send you a replacement pouch and a cabinet lock. They claim this will be done within 2-3 weeks of submission. Claims of less than 2 pouches seems to be processed automatically. 3 or more are manually reviewed.
Back in December I purchased $50+ worth of Tide Pods from Amazon thanks to a Frontpage deal. I have not gotten around to using them yet so I still had all my packages. I was asked for the UPC code and the lot/batch numbers to determine if I qualified. If you no longer have the packaging you will not be able to submit a claim.
This campaign is not limited to Amazon purchases. It includes all affected detergents sold anywhere in the US/Canada. But to easily check if your packages purchased from Amazon are affected you can review Amazon's Recalls and Product Safety Alerts page [Amazon.com].
Hope this helps and stay safe.
